Birthday Festivities

Free lift ticket for your birthday! I love this mountain. I'm officially 1/4 of a century.

Turns out DQ doesn't make ice cream cakes here in Flagstaff. I had to settle for a Baskin Robins.

Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument and Mexico

Last weekend I went on another camping adventure WAY south to Organ Pipe Cactus NM. We were only 20 minutes from the Mexican border, so we went across for the day. I picked up some Mescal for my dad and The sunsets/sunrises were amazing.
The desert view.

Chollaed - Apparently there is a cactus called a Cholla that drops off little balls of fury for anything wandering near them to get impaled upon. This unknowledgable desert wanderer got super chollaed. I couldn't take any steps because they work themselves deeper into your tissues with each one. It took them .00000001 second to penetrate my shoe.

You have to remove them with pliers or the other person will just be standing there laughing hysterically but in pain with you.

Whoever says that Arizona doesn't have mountains, has never been to Arizona.

Raven in fight. He watched over our campsite for the weekend.

Sonoyta, Mexico - Border town to Lukeville, Arizona. You should see the border fence!

Trip to Phoenix via Oak Creek Canyon and Sedona

I went to Phoenix to visit my Aunt Janet. I decided to take the scenic route to check out the canyon and red rocks of Sedona. It was 80 degrees when I arrived in Phoenix. While visiting Mayo Clinic, I got to see 4 javelinas, the meanest hog creatures ever.

Black Canyon Canoe Trip

I went on another adventure with 25 complete strangers. We did a 3 day, 15 mile canoe trip down the Colorado River putting in at the base of the Hoover Dam. It was an unforgettable weekend.

Snow Storm 2010

Hey everyone,
We made it through the awesome snowstorm that hit Flagstaff. We had about 5-6 feet of snow with 7-9 feet up on the mountain. Yes, I did get to go snowboarding in the glorious fresh powder. Here are a few pics of my place, my roommate shoveling the roof and general snow.

My car roof was flush with the snow bank by the end of the snows.

My snow angel on the back porch.

My view from Arizona Snow Bowl. The most amazing mountain ever, right out my back door.
