Glade Creek Hike and Lower Gauley River Whitewater Duckie

Pete and I went to West Virginia this past weekend for tent camping with a great 11 mile hike paralleling Glade Creek and a duckie trip down the Lower Gauley River with Class I-V rapids. The river was flowing at 300 CFS at first and was pumped up to 650 CFS by the end of our day. Needless to say, I fell out a few times and loved every second. Next challenge - keep learning how to whitewater kayak so I can dominate some rapids strapped into a boat!

Day 1 - Glade River Hike with superb swimming hole
Little buddy

Bridge on the trail

Kates Falls - not doing so well

The most amazing swimming hole and jump rock ever!

Bridge over New River Gorge - my next whitewater rafting river (if I don't do Upper and Lower Gauley Fall Whitewater first!)

Day 2 Lower Gauley River Duckies
Stephanie Falls - not really, I just don't know the name so this works

I have to go down what? In a what? Here goes nothing!

Yee Haw! I love jump rocks!

Pete under the waterfall

Canyon Doors

Surfing in the rapids

Still surfing - check out those muscles

Look ma, no paddle!

Fell out again - just trying out my free riding rapid skills :)

Back in the boat

I made it!
