I believe I’ve posted about this before, but when I find myself experiencing similar situations as my patients, I use that experience to better care for them in the future. I liked the quote above for that reason. We all can try to imagine what it is like to be a patient in a certain scenario, but until we live it, we truly can’t. I hope to bring further understanding and empathy to my work, when I am fortunate enough to return.
