Gloucester - Home of The Perfect Storm

We traveled to Gloucester, Mass to have some amazing swordfish tips one Sunday afternoon. It was another day of beautiful East coastline.

Rockport - Motif #1 - A very photographed lobster house.

Newport Mansions

Sorry for the delay. I was so busy at the end of my clinical. My Aunt and I went to Rhode Island one of the last weekends to do the Cliff Walk and see the infamous Newport Mansions. This knocks yet another state off my list.

New Hampshire and Vermont Loop

Yesterday, my Aunt and I took a 12 hour drive up through New Hampshire and down through Vermont. We found 2 spooky old graveyards, 2 waterfalls (one which has taken 10 lives) and a million gorgeous autumn trees. It was briskly cold but at least there was no snow to slow us down. Enjoy the pics!

This one is for my mom and Maggie - Halloween fanatics!

Awesome Covered Bridge

My attempt at an artistic reflection - if only the trees weren't in my way.

Quechee Gorge - Pictures can't show the depth...

Covered Bridge in Woodstock, VT

Amazing woodwork - No metal buttresses were used for the entire bridge.

Hamilton Falls - Swim at your own risk!

Note the ladder to the left - people were swimming in there without a ladder and would get swept down the falls falling to their death. They only put one in to save the idiots that choose to swim there, because they were not deterred even if one wasn't there.

Mount Monadnock

Yesterday I climbed Mount Monadnock, a 3,165 ft mountain in New Hampshire. It is supposedly the 2nd most hiked (not climbed) mountain in the world. Truthfully I didn't know what I was getting myself into, but the experience was amazing. I tried to get pictures so you could see the elevation of the climb and the rocks I had to maneuver up. I recommend it to everyone. It was around a 2 hour hike up and a 1 hour hike down.

The main trails. I ascended with the White Dot and descended via the White Cross.

One of the first rock sections. Like I said, I didn't know what I was getting myself into.

View from "most" of the way up. I thought I was at or close to the top at this point. One hour later, I reached the actual top.

The fog kept getting thicker and thicker as I climbed up.

Again, I thought I was at the top. This one was at least flat. This mountain was way deceiving.

Following the White Dots. I can't imagine being the first one to ascend this mountain and think "hmmm, maybe I'll put a trail through here."

Its a tough life for a tree among this many rocks.

Almost at the top - but I've said that before. Oh and a tip: If someone is coming down the mountain, says "You're almost there", you're not.

The view from the top was completely fogged in so this is the first view of the landscape after the descent.

Apparently they were hosting MXC (Thanks TJ) on Mount Monadnock. :)

Coming down the White Cross trail - I like the natural cross on the left of the rock.

Yet another spectacular view - the pictures don't do it justice.

The descent was just as fun as climbing up!

Apple Picking

Last Sunday, I went apple picking at an orchard with 9 different types of apples. My aunt and I each picked 1/2 a peck and then came home to make fresh homemade apple dumplings. Guess what we had for dinner? :)

The first apple I picked had this little buddy on it. Figures.

Having too much fun obviously. I have that crooked smile just like my Grandpa.

The rows went on forever.

There are P.Y.O. signs everywhere. Leave your own sign meaning in the comments.

Sorry about the late post, I'm trying to catch up on life this weekend.

Where Everybody Knows Your Name....

Hokey, I know. But I couldn't go out bar hopping in Boston without hitting up the legendary Cheers! We went out and had a great filet mignon followed by a self-guided bar tour with great bands.

Let's Go Red Sox! Clap. Clap. Clap. Clap. Clap.

I had the privilege to experience a Boston Red Sox game vs. Cleveland Indians on Thursday, October 1, 2009. The stadium was amazing. It was very quaint and the fans were impressive.

Hello Fenway!

We did take the T and it was jam packed.

So, if anyone ever gets a chance to get to this legendary stadium, I highly recommend it!

Chapter 2: Massachusetts Living

Hey everyone! It's time for a new clinical experience, and with that, a whole new part of the US. My Aunt Becky and I traveled from Westford, MA to Maine today along the coast. We made many stops but the main ones were Cape Neddick, Ogunquit and Kennebunkport. Cape Neddick is home to the Nubble Light(house) which is one of the most photographed lighthouses. I had to jump on that bandwagon.

I had my first Maine Lobster in Ogunquit at Barnacle Billy's and it was amazing. I will spare you the photos of me eating the little creature. Then, we went past the George Bush estate in Kennybunkport. Here are some photos of the rest of our trip.

Cute Little Snail Guy - There were millions of these creatures crawling around.

Mr. Crab

Lovers Quarrel - Apparently they decided to go their own ways.

Hopefully the leaves will be changing and I can post some amazing autumn pictures soon!
