Painted Rock Petroglyphs

Not to be confused with my petroglyphs from Wyoming. These were cool but not as exciting. It was another long drive into the middle of nowhere to find a pile of rocks with many drawings on them.

Chiricahua National Monument and Tombstone, AZ

Another adventure into the middle of nowhere. 233 miles into the back desert of Arizona lead us to Chiricahua National Monument, a breathtaking drive/hike into some amazing balancing rocks.

What is a trip to Arizona without a beer (or two) at the Crystal Palace in Tombstone, AZ? Anyone who has ever watched the movie Tombstone will understand these grave sites.

On Monday, December 21st we managed to gain enough energy and gas money to head down to see my dad's friend in Phoenix. We stopped in Sedona and went through Oak Creek Canyon to get there.

Saguaro Cactus - We took an early morning hike on these mountains with thousands of Saguaro cacti all around - They do not start to grow any arms until they are around 70 years old

Trip to Arizona Day 4: Flagstaff, AZ

We made it on Saturday, December 19th without any type of bad weather. While you all were getting pounded, we had sun and warm temperatures (until reaching Flagstaff).

On the way, there were signs for a Meteor Crater. We decided to stop. Don't waste your time. Enjoy the pics and save yourself the $15 per person fee.

Needless to say, we went out that night. The rest of our trip that I will post has many more fun pictures.

Trip to Arizona Day 3: Amarillo, TX

Our first task when landing in Amarillo, TX was to find Cadillac Ranch. After many phone calls to Maggie and my mom, we found the strange art in a field in the MIDDLE OF NOWHERE, USA! Enjoy the video.



We then went to The Big Texan Steak Ranch: Home of the FREE 72 oz. Steak. Some 12 year old was trying to eat the dinner for free which includes a baked potato, salad, dinner roll and shrimp cocktail. IF you do not finish everything, however, it costs $50. Not bad for that much food.

Trip to Arizona Day 2: Shreveport, LA

We managed to outrun the rain/snow storm that ended up hitting up North and had a great feast of crawfish. I took a picture of my plate but this guy is cuter.

Trip to Arizona Day 1: Nashville, TN

Sorry it's taken so long to post. Dad and I had a great trip stopping in Nashville, TN the first night. We decided to stop in at Legend's Corner and ended up watching a great band. They were a hodgepodge of people who play for various country stars such as LeAnn Rimes (fiddle player) and Mark Chestnut (bassist). My awesome friend S.C. came out and got a good laugh at the music and my line dancing. Here is a glimpse of the wonderful night.

Audubon Walk

My Aunt took me on a walk through the Massachusetts Audubon Society Conservation where the Chickadees and the occasional Nuthatch will eat right out of your hand. She only got one blurry picture of one landing on my hand. It was pretty amazing having those little guys clasp to your hand and steal the seeds.

Clearly I was very determined in this picture. It took a lot of focus for me to stay that still.

No "I'm a little teapot" jokes please.
